Lactation home visits

  • Initial home visits

All home visits begin by identifying your concerns and goals regarding lactation, infant feeding, postpartum recovery and healing, and the transition to life with a new baby. Your goals will determine the overall shape and direction of the visit.

Visits also include a review of your relevant medical and feeding histories, a physical assessment of the nursing parent, an oral and head-to-toe assessment of the infant(s), and an observation of a nursing or bottle-feeding session. Before I leave, we’ll make sure that you have a plan in place that feels achievable and empowering.

Cost of a home visit: $205

    What's included:

Up to 2 hours of in-person lactation and breast/chest-feeding support and problem solving in your home.

1 week of additional support via phone, text, and/or email.

Access to my library of resources.

Support to ensure that you receive maximum reimbursement from your insurance company.

Coordination between myself and the other members of your care team (pediatricians, midwives, OBs, etc.).

    Referrals as needed.

  • Follow-up home visits

In some cases, one or more follow-up visits may be recommended. This is often the case when there is concern about infant weight gain, milk transfer at the breast, oral ties (tongue or lip ties), or other ongoing challenges that take additional time and care. I will only recommend a follow-up visit if it is necessary and/or strongly desired by the family.

Follow-up visits are only available to those who have already had an initial visit.
